I often read books about military history. Every now and again, the author says something that sticks in my head. Examples paraphrased from memory:
- When you need a general, if you’re lucky, you have someone who’s energetic and intelligent.
- If you don’t have one of those, you can do pretty well with a general who’s intelligent and lazy.
- Failing that, appoint someone who’s stupid and lazy.
- But God help you if you only have someone who’s stupid and energetic.
Do you see any current application?
